Summer ... at long last!

We are predicting a great summer in the Garden.  There has been enough rain to keep things green and the warm temperatures and sunshine will bring us the flowers that everyone loves.  The irises are pretty much done, but the peonies and roses are waiting in the wings.

Remember that "last rose of summer" still blooming on October 28th last fall?

Here it is, the first rose of summer!  Better than that party guest, the first to come, the last to go. Party on!
