The Ranger Cabin & Pond

The Ranger Cabin was built in 1930 to provide summer accommodation for the Towerman (Gardener).  Christened “Ranger’s Rest” by Charlie Macdonald, it was equipped with a kitchen and living space.  The porch was closed in ten years later and a bathroom was installed in 1956.

The pond was constructed in 1931 and stocked with goldfish and water lilies.  The birdbath style fountain stood in the centre of the pond until some time in the 1980’s.
